Who we are

Caldecott Fostering was set up in 2008 specifically to cater for young people who needed a higher level of support. Our carers are committed to helping these young people and we work to support them to provide the best possible care.

As part of the Caldecott Foundation, an organisation with 100 years of experience helping the most vulnerable children in the UK, the Caldecott Fostering Service has a huge amount of resources to call upon and we believe that this make us unique in the sector.

Continuity of care and a seamless service from initial assessment through to fostering in line with the ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda enhances each child’s life chances, and meets the professional aspirations of social workers and education departments.

Our multi-disciplinary team provides specialist assessments and works to identify individual packages of care based on the needs of each child.

Caldecott Fostering decided from the beginning, that it would become established enough to offer security, but small enough to care and at the same time still offer the personal touch which is so important to Foster Carers undertaking this demanding and challenging role. In order to ensure we maintained this ethos we decided to:

  • Recruit the very best staff and foster carers within our region.
  • Deliver our support services flexibly, speedily, and without fuss.
  • Communicate, communicate, communicate!
  • Consult and involve foster carers and children/young people in decisions about how the service was run.
  • Provide regular group support sessions for our foster carers to come together to share experiences and just talk.
  • Recognise that fostering is a serious and challenging occupation, but ensure that we have FUN along the way and that foster carers have a sense of humour!

In December 2012, Caldecott Fostering was deemed a ‘Good’ fostering provider following an inspection by Ofsted. You can view the inspection report by clicking here
