MBEs for Services to Foster Care

Our responsible individual, Clair Chamberlain and registered manager, Jackie Neil, visited Carol and Derek at home to congratulate them. (Photo of Clair with Carol and Derek).

The new year has started with some wonderful news for Caldecott Fostering. Carol and Derek Moody, who foster with us, have been awarded MBEs for services to foster care.

In a post on Linkedin Carol said:

We are pleased honoured and humbled to have received an MBE. (Wow..) It hasn’t quite sunk in yet, it certainly was a brilliant New Year’s Eve. There are so many wonderful Foster carers out there making a real difference and we applaud them all. Thank you to those who nominated and supported this nomination, we have no idea who nominated us, but thank you.

We absolutely want to thank our family, friends, and other professionals for many years of valuable support over our 20 years of Fostering. A massive thank you to Caldecott Fostering for their excellent support and for always being there to share our fostering journey. Our boys.. what can I say, except they are amazing, they are inspirational and they bring us so much joy. Fostering is a journey, and it is wonderful in how much difference you can make to a child’s life. Lastly we would like to congratulate everyone who received awards.

We are very proud and privileged to have such amazing foster carers and it is wonderful that they have received the recognition they deserve. Two of their young people remained living with them under ‘shared lives’ arrangements following their 18th birthdays. These young people are now 22 and 25 and still living with them!
