Transfer FAQ

If I transfer to Caldecott, will I need to go through the assessment process again?

Even if you are approved with another agency/local authority, we will still need to complete an assessment, as this is a requirement of the relevant regulations and applies to all agencies and local authorities. However we strive to ensure that this is a supportive and efficient transition, which we aim to make as seamless as possible for you. It usually takes around 3-4 months.

Can I transfer with a young person in placement?

Yes you can. We place the needs and interests of the young person firmly at the heart of everything we do. We encourage and support best practice for transferring between agencies, outlined by the Fostering Network Transfer Protocol.

WILL I RECEIVE THE SAME FOSTERING ALLOWANCES?

Caldecott Fostering has a very competitive allowance scheme and in many cases you will be financially advantaged by moving on to our allowances and benefits. However, we would honour any allowances or enhanced payments that you have been receiving from your current agency – most importantly, we ensure that any young person placed is not disadvantaged by a transfer.
